Bike riders have been killed and injured on Tasmanian roads. The road is a shared space and all road users should respect each other to ensure everyone’s safety. One of the best ways to help keep bike riders safe is to keep a safe distance, especially when overtaking. A metre should be maintained between an overtaking vehicle and a bike in speed zones up to and including 60km/h and 1.5 metres in speed zones above 60km/h.
