Let’s go for zero
Road safety authorities and all Tasmanians want a road fatality-free Christmas/New Year. “We can do it,” Road Safety Advisory Council Chair Garry Bailey said today at the launch of Tasmania Police’s Operation Crossroads. “There’s been no Christmas/New Year road fatalities three times in the past 15 years – the most recent 2017-2018. But last year five people were killed, the highest since before 1998 when computerised records began. Christmas is a terrible time for those families whose loved ones have been killed on our roads.
